The town of Innerleithen lies approximately 7 miles east of Peebles and within comfortable commuting distance of Edinburgh, with the City Bypass only 22 miles away. Innerleithen is served by a range of amenities including several local shops, a butcher, baker, chemist, banks and doctors surgery, as well as a supermarket. There are further facilities available in the nearby town of Peebles and in the other direction Galashiels (12 miles). There is a local primary school, with the high school in Peebles. Set in stunning Borders countryside, Innerleithen offers ample opportunity for walking and bike riding, with the Tweed Valley Railway Path within walking distance, and the popular Glentress Forest a short drive away.
The small village of Walkerburn lies 2 miles to the east of Innerleithen and has a hotel, primary school, and excellent local fishing.
